BALL LEAGUE ASSOCIATION IN MARIONVILLE

The ball league association in Marionville was founded in 1982 and still exists today. In 2023, 41 years into its existence, this league is still recognized as one of the best mixed leagues in the area. Each team must be represented by a certain number of players from Marionville.

In 2023, Yvrik Leclerc was named the league's new President, succeeding Martin Dagenais after he had successfully fulfilled this role for many years. Thank you, Martin, and best of luck in your new role as head coach of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Over the years, many players and teams have made their mark in this sport. Marionville's all-time fastball star is undoubtedly André "Joe" Bélisle. He is pictured below in action at an Ontario provincial tournament in 1981.

For the 2023 season, Daguerre's Chiefs team was crowned champion by winning the year-end tournament in extra innings against the strong Weeds team. Well done to all the teams!

The planning for the 2024 season has already begun. The schedule will be made available in due course. Séraphin Marion Park is the place to be for ball games in Marionville. A meeting place for new and old Marionville residents.
